Maintenance Training
Available training courses at GEAC:
- M601 Type Maintenance Certificate course: (5 days) This training allows for GEAC to issue Maintenance Type Certificates upon successful passing of the final examination. This course is Part 147 approved.
- Refreshment training: (3 days) This course serves as a refresher to the Type Maintenance course. (Does not fall under Part 147)
- Familiarization training: (1 day) A basic familiarization course to introduce M601 to the general public. (Does not fall under Part 147)
- H80 Engine Differentiation Training (half day): This course provides insight into the differences between GE's new H80 engine, and the original M601 product line. (Does not fall under Part 147)
GE M601 Maintenance Type Certification Courses 
- The course is approved by EASA (PART 147) and accepted by Civil Aviation Authorities worldwide
- Terms: On request, and Pre-Scheduled
- Participants should be aviation engineers or experienced mechanics
- Successful participants receive GE M601 Maintenance Type Certification
- The One-week course is offered at the factory in Prague, Czech Republic as well as in other - previously qualified - locations, to meet customers' needs.
Course Syllabus:
The Course length is approximately 40 hours of instructional training which includes:
- Theory:
- Introduction

- Description of GE M601 systems
- Engine parameters
- Line maintenance
- Introduction
- Practical Experience:
- Maintenance demonstrations are conducted in the GE engine test facility
- On Aircraft Maintenance demonstration may be conducted on an aircraft
- Production plant familiarization
- Tests:
- Written and practical examination to verify knowledge
Teaching aids, materials and technical facilities available:
- Classroom training includes a sectioned GE M601 engine mockup, all systems block diagrams and all the important engine parts and details to be demonstrated
- The M601 Engine test facility is used to demonstrate the maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
- On the Aircraft engine maintenance is demonstrated on the L-410 commuter or Z137T Ag aircraft, upon request.
- Text book on the materials taught will be provided
